Pilot Study Shows Improved Engagement of Hyperlipidemia Patients

It’s estimated that more than 50% of Americans have elevated LDL levels, millions of whom have been diagnosed with hyperlipidemia. Lifestyle changes can play a crucial role in their treatment, yet many of these patients have limited knowledge about their condition – and aren’t motivated to engage in their treatment.

Video Learning for Hyperlipidemia Patients

A tailored educational program directed at hyperlipidemia patients is essential to encourage them to actively participate in their care. Can you prove this with clinical data? With Mytonomy Research Cloud, the answer is yes.

Mytonomy Enrolls Patients

Mytonomy, in partnership with a world-renowned research institute, used its Research Cloud platform to consent and enroll patients in a pilot study of video learning for this population.

This screened cohort received digitally-streamed microlearning video content, along with additional education based on comorbidities identified in their medical records.

Microlearning Proven Effective

The results of the study were clear: microlearning content for hyperlipidemia patients works.

91% of those enrolled in the study watched the videos, with patients on average watching 74% of the videos prescribed to them. 85% of the study participants reported taking their medications as prescribed, with many noting a sizable decrease in anxiety and depression: 18% and 30%, respectively.
