Annabaker Garber,

Nursing Advisor

Annabaker Garber, RN, PhD was the CNIO for HCA Healthcare from 2016-2022. Her accomplishments at HCA include an enterprise-wide implementation of numerous applications including an enterprise-wide communications platform, telemetry alerts going directly to RN’s phone, Care Team Assignment, a nurse leader rounding app, a strategy for identifying and resolving issues, an app to take images of patient wounds, a pilot for presenting patient-centric information on TVs, evaluation of patient education platforms and offerings, among others. Her previous experience included work at Massachusetts General Hospital as the Director of Clinical Informatics for almost 3 years where she worked on the enterprise EMR implementation. Dr. Garber has experience as the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle for 7 years. These roles emphasized the relationships between clinical practice, technology, processes, cost, and efficiency for the improvement of patient care. Dr. Garber has experience on several facets of EMR implementation, including education, training, support, adoption, and optimization. Her Master’s in Nursing is in psychosocial nursing, and her PhD is in physiological psychology.
