Working for the Federal Government encompasses many different departments and fields of study. The Federal Government, being the largest and most paramount governing body, is a great source of jobs and job opportunities, ranging from liberal arts to technology to management. Unique qualities of working for the federal government include job security, job mobility, and many benefits, but working for the government often pays less than working a comparable job with private corportations. Furthermore, governent employees are much more closely scrutinized for their background and records, especially at the federal level, in order to preserve national security. Working for the federal government does not necessarily limit job location to DC or other major cities; in fact, many federal employees live overseas, maintaining the United States' international relations.
